"Heterotopia" is a concept of human geography, which describes places and spaces that function in non-hegemonic conditions.

The philosophy uses the term "heterotopia" to describe spaces that have multiple layers of meaning, or of relations between different places, and which complexity can't be seen imediately.

These are the spaces of the alternatives, which are neither here nor there, which are physical and mental at the same time, such as the space of a telephone call, the moment in which we see ourselves in the mirror, or our relationship with the digital surfaces.
